The National Weather Service issued a report at 1:03 p.m. on Thursday for a snow squall until 1:45 p.m. for Essex County.

"At 1:03 p.m., A snow squall was reported along a line extending from Jeffersonville Village to near Westport. Movement was south at 40 mph," states the weather service. "Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and will blow around unsecured objects. Low visibility will pose a hazard to motorists."

Locations impacted by the alert include Essex Junction, Barre, Westport Village, Burlington International Airport, Montpelier, Middlebury, Port Henry, South Burlington, Vergennes, Burlington, Morrisville, Cambridge, Salisbury, Waterbury Village, Websterville, Essex Junction Village, Worcester, Middlesex, Marshfield and Addison.
