ROCKFORD, Ill. — A man was charged after explosive devices were found in a Rockford house.
On Wednesday, the Rockford Police Department was told that possible explosive devices were found in a house in the 1600 block of N. Church Street.
When RPD's bomb unit arrived, they found three devices that were deemed to be explosives. The explosives were safely removed by the bomb unit.
The Winnebago County State's Attorney's Office charged 29-year-old Joshua Kelce of Rockford with possession of explosives/incendiary devices.
Kelce was already at Winnebago County Jail for unrelated charges, where he remains.
Kelce will be in court on Jan. 15, 2026, at 9 a.m.
