A former Burlington, Massachusetts, wrestling coach was convicted Wednesday of trying to send obscene messages to a 14-year-old girl, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office.
Prosecutors said Stephen James Lemelin, 51, thought he was communicating with a 14-year-old girl on Kik Messenger, but he was actually in touch with an undercover agent.

Lemelin, who was a Burlington High School wrestling coach at the time, was convicted of three counts of attempted transfer of obscene material to a minor.
Investigators say over the course of five months, he sent pictures of his genitals and proposed meeting up for sex. He was first arrested and charged in May 2024, and is now scheduled for sentencing on March 26, 2026.
