LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Lexington Police added 20 new officers to their ranks Thursday after months of training both in the classroom and out in the field.
The new officers have been through months of physical and mental preparation. From patrolling, firearms, and defense techniques, the graduates say they are ready to put their skills to work.
Rigorous 27-week training program
Recruits spent 27 weeks on the range, driving pad, and running full investigation scenarios, learning how to respond to real-world situations.
“The training process was very tough. The training process taught me a lot of discipline. But the training process was the most rewarding thing that I’ve ever been through in my life,” said Audriana Christopher, an LPD graduate.
