INDIANAPOLIS — The Indiana House has passed a bill to redraw Indiana's congressional districts , which now moves on to the Senate where it has faced more opposition.
The bill passed 57 to 41 . 11 Republicans joined the 30 Democrats in the chamber who voted against the bill. Two representatives were excused from the voting.
The bill now heads to the Indiana Senate, where President Pro Tem Rod Bray (R-Martinsville) has repeatedly said there are not enough votes to pass redistricting.
A number of Senate Republicans have publicly stated their opposition to the redistricting push, which was initiated by President Donald Trump who hopes to hold onto control of the U.S. House after the 2026 Midterm Elections.
