SHARON, Mass. —

A Dedham, Massachusetts, man was arrested Thursday for allegedly running a door-to-door paving scheme where he'd steal thousands of dollars from his victims for incomplete work.

William "Bill" Pusateri was charged with larceny over $250 from a 60 or older/disabled person, as well as common and notorious thief.

According to the Sharon Police Department, an older female alerted officers on Dec. 2 that she had been scammed out of $4,000 by a man, later identified as Pusateri, who claimed he could pave her driveway.

The victim said she paid Pusateri the money in cash, and he never returned to do the work.

As detectives began their investigation, they discovered Pusateri allegedly had been running the same scam across several Massachusetts towns.
