BOSTON —
The MSPCA-Angell and five of its shelter partners are waiving adoption fees for all dogs aged one and older next week as part of their holiday adopt-a-thon.
Dubbed " Snow Place Like Home ," the event begins Dec. 8 and runs through Dec. 14.
"We started the coalition last year with the goal of reducing euthanasia in shelters across the state and improving the overall well-being of animals that call the Commonwealth home," said Jamie Garabedian, project manager in the MSPCA-Angell's Animal Protection Division. "A big part of that is lowering the barriers to adoption."
Garabedian says a slowdown in adoption has hit adult dogs, especially larger breeds, the hardest.
