A man has been found guilty of attempted murder after two men were seriously injured in a Sunderland knife attack.

Emergency services were called to a disturbance inside an address on Roker Avenue on June 21 where two men were found to have both sustained serious knife injuries.

Both men, one aged in his 40s and the other in his 20s, were taken to hospital for treatment and were later discharged.

Adam Ahmed, 30, was arrested at the scene and later charged with attempted murder in relation to the two victims.

Following a trial at Newcastle Crown Court, Ahmed, of Roker Avenue, has been convicted of one count of attempted murder in relation to one of the victims and wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm in relation to the other.
