The National Weather Service issued a weather alert at 6:27 p.m. on Sunday for heavy snow until 7:15 p.m. for Herkimer and Hamilton counties.
"At 6:26 p.m., a band of heavy snow was along a line extending from near Harrietstown to 7 miles southeast of Whetstone Gulf State Park and moving east at 20 MPH," states the weather service.
Expect heavy snow in the following locations:
Big Moose around 6:30 p.m.
Old Forge and Lake Eaton Campground around 6:45 p.m.
Alger Island Public Campground, Nicks Lake Campground, Eagle Bay, and McKeever around 6:55 p.m.
Forked Lake Public Campground around 7 p.m.
Brown Tract Pond Campground around 7:05 p.m.
