Syracuse, N.Y. - A Syracuse man has pleaded guilty to possessing child pornography, including images depicting abuse of infants, according to federal prosecutors.

Kurt Dobler, 31, was on probation for possessing child pornography when he was caught with thousands of image and video files of child pornography on his phone, according to a news release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office for Northern New York.

Two of the videos described in court papers showed infant girls being raped. Other videos showed boys and girls being sexually abused, according to court papers.

Dobler was convicted in February 2023 in Fulton County Court, of possessing a sexual performance by a child, federal prosecutors said. He was sentenced to 10 years’ probation.
