The family of a man who died from lung cancer after prolonged exposure to asbestos has won a court battle to claim compensation from Scottish Power.
Robert Crozier, from Livingston , worked as a mechanical fitter for the energy company at plants across Scotland between 1969 and 1992. He died of mesothelioma in 2018 aged 79.
The disease is a form of cancer in the lining that covers the outer surface of some of the body’s organs and is usually linked to asbestos exposure.
Before his death, Mr Crozier had claimed compensation from the energy company because of other asbestos-related health problems he developed during his employment.
