A 39-year-old woman suffered life-threatening injuries Tuesday night after her vehicle hit a tree and caught fire on Jefferson Pike, authorities said.

A witness told police they saw the vehicle swerve and hit a tree along the road, Maryland State Police Sgt. Kyle Gaines said on Wednesday.
