ANN ARBOR — While Wednesday’s news about Sherrone Moore was salacious, the former Michigan head football coach had different kinds of missteps throughout his brief tenure at the school.

Moore was fired Wednesday after two seasons “with cause,” the school announced. “Following a University investigation, credible evidence was found that Coach Moore engaged in an inappropriate relationship with a staff member,” read a statement from Michigan athletic director Warde Manuel. “This conduct constitutes a clear violation of University policy, and U-M maintains zero tolerance for such behavior.”

If not for this scandal, Moore would have been given a third season. Not every Michigan fan was thrilled about that. The Wolverines went 9-3 in the 2025 regular season and are underdogs in their Dec. 31
