A Coventry man has been jailed for 26 years after being convicted for raping a child starting in the late 90s in the Yorkshire town of Batley. Anthony Restall of Manhatten Way, Tile Hill, was found guilty of six offences after a trial at Leeds Crown Court in August.

The 59-year-old was convicted of four counts of indecent assault on a girl under the age of 14 years, one rape of a female under 16 and a further rape but on multiple occasions. The offences took place between 1998 and 2003.
