The Senoia City Council approved cost of living and merit raises for city employees, but not for city department heads as the council holds steady on the city's new spending freeze.
Previously on Sept. 29, the council approved the city's budget on the condition it would be provided a variance report in expenses. Until that report was delivered to and reviewed by the council, the city would not spend new funds, such as capital projects, salary increases and additional equipment purchases.
Councilmember Dale Reeder said the mayor and council received the variance report, though he wasn't satisfied with the results.
