The Lower Fayetteville Road widening project continues to move forward, with city officials confirming the work is ahead of schedule as it enters a key engineering phase.
The project has an approved concept and is now in Preliminary Engineering. Consultants have submitted a Value Engineering Study to the Georgia Department of Transportation for review.
The study serves as a peer evaluation of the approved concept and is designed to identify potential cost savings and refine the design before full engineering begins.
GDOT has not yet approved the VE Study. Once the agency signs off, the city’s consultant team will move into full design and make any adjustments recommended through the review.
The widening will span roughly five miles from Greison Trail to Lora Smith Road. Plans call for
