STANISLAUS COUNTY, Calif. —
A Modesto man died Thursday morning after a head-on crash in Stanislaus County, the California Highway Patrol said.
CHP said it got a call around 3:35 a.m. about the crash on Albers Road south of Dusty Lane, which is east of Modesto and west of Waterford. Officers who went there found two vehicles with major damage, a Chrysler sedan and a Nissan pickup truck.
While the information is still preliminary, CHP said it believes the Chrysler was driving on southbound Albers Road when it got into the northbound lanes and slammed into the pickup truck head-on.
The pickup truck driver, a 55-year-old man from Modesto, died at the scene, CHP said. The sedan driver was a 23-year-old man from Winton in Merced County.
