CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Dangerous heat and humidity continues for the Carolinas on Tuesday.
July is now officially the second-hottest in Charlotte's history, and the three days in a row at 101-102 degrees helped move the area up into that spot.
Saturday's high in the Queen City hit 101 degrees with a whopping 102 degrees on Sunday. In fact, it was a new record for July 26. The previous record was 100 degrees set back or tied in 1914, 1940 and 2005. Sunday's high didn't break a record, but it was within 1 degree with the current record of 103 degrees in tact.
