CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Charlotte-area residents have probably noticed it’s been tough to cool off even after the sun goes down lately.

This past weekend, the region's overnight temperatures struggled hard. In fact, Charlotte set record warm low temperatures both Saturday and Sunday, only dropping to the upper 70s.

Monday morning, Charlotte tied its warmest low with a steamy 78 degrees, which the area last hit back in 2016.

And 2025 isn’t just breaking daily records. This year is currently holding the top spot for warmest average low in July of 74.6 degrees, beating out memorable summers including 1993, 2024 and even 1986.
