TRAVERSE CITY, Mich. (WOOD) — The mother of one of the 11 people stabbed at a Traverse City-area Walmart said she grieves for not only the victims, but for the man who stabbed her son and the others.
She was in the store when it happened Saturday. She said her son told her that the suspect, identified as Bradford Gille, 42, "looked more scared than the people he had hurt."
"It's not a matter of forgiving," said the woman, who spoke to News 8 on the condition that she and her son would not be identified. "I grieve for him (Gille). In my spirit, I hurt for what this man went through that came out of him in this manner. He's hurt. I can't even imagine what he must be feeling inside."
Gille, who has a long history of mental illness, is charged with 11 counts of assault with intent to murder
