LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - After opening just a few weeks ago , the new F Street Art Chapel held its first First Friday event this week, putting on an “Art Buffet.”

First Fridays are held every month to show off artwork at galleries and businesses around downtown Lincoln. The chapel’s event allowed visitors to choose from four types of art projects that they spent the night working on.

From painting pots and tote bags to making friendship bracelets and earrings, director Willow Bernadt said it’s all about meeting people in the neighborhood and making something creative.

“I know art making can be intimidating for some people, especially if they’re not used to it,” Bernadt said. “We like to be a place that’s welcoming and accepting, a place where people can really let loose, be creative me
