LINCOLN, Neb. (WOWT) - The state’s new medical marijuana regulatory board is set to meet Monday afternoon.

The Nebraska Medical Cannabis Commission has until Oct. 1 to finish permanent regulations for the industry. It is supposed to be in a position to accept licensing applications from those who want to grow and sell medical cannabis.

One of the items on the agenda is a discussion on the specifics of what voters passed in November . Another item focuses on flavorings, smoking, and effects of use during pregnancy.

Racing to beat a deadline, the commission voted 4-0 in their June 26 meeting to adopt temporary, emergency regulations . The rules had to be published on the Medical Cannabis Commission’s website -- which didn’t exist at the time.
