A line of thunderstorms that moved across North Texas on Aug. 4 produced the highest wind gust ever recorded at DFW.

At 4:39 a.m., the observation at DFW Airport recorded a wind gust of 89 mph. This surpasses the wind gust of 85 mph that led to the crash of Delta Air Lines Flight 191. Both events were due to a microburst.
