DURHAM, N.C. (WNCN) – Police in Durham are searching for a woman accused of almost hitting an officer with her car and leading law enforcement on a chase, officials said.
According to the Durham Police Department, officers responded shortly after 9 p.m. Tuesday to Crown Parkway near Mona Lisa Drive, with the intent of locating a suspect involved in a domestic violence incident.
When officers found the suspected vehicle, police said they pulled over and approached, commanding the driver to leave the vehicle. Shortly afterward, the suspect, later identified as 33-year-old Clarissa Bell, put the car into drive and drove away, nearly striking an officer, Durham police said.
