SUGARCREEK, Ohio — State Route 39 has reopened in Sugarcreek after a crash led to a "major gas leak" in the area.

and fire officials are urging everyone in the surrounding area to "evacuate immediately!"

According to the Sugarcreek Fire Department in Tuscarawas County, the crash and subsequent leak occurred in the area of West Main Street and state Route 93. Officials ordered "any person within 3 blocks" of the incident to "evacuate immediately!"

Details regarding what led up to the crash and leak are not known at this time. Authorities say Enbridge gas shut the line off by 8 p.m., with the road reopening and residents being allowed to return about an hour later.
