SALEM, Ore. — An 11-year-old girl reported missing from her Salem home on Tuesday evening was found after an hours-long search, and a man accused of kidnapping her is in custody, police said Wednesday.

After more than three hours of searching, officers arrested 48-year-old Elijah Galaviz Arce when they found him with the girl in a secluded area covered by shrubbery. Detectives said Arce lured the child from her home while she was outside and convinced her to leave with him.

Arce was booked at the Marion County Jail. According to the charging document , he's accused of second-degree kidnapping and first-degree sexual abuse — both Class B felonies — and unlawful delivery of methamphetamine, a Class A felony.
