BENNINGTON, Neb. (WOWT) - Bennington Police have a tip for drivers after a string of car break-ins and thefts overnight Tuesday. The thefts and break-ins were caught on video through various Ring doorbell cameras.
The footage captured by police shows a group of four people driving in the neighborhood in one alleged stolen vehicle before abandoning it, breaking in another, and finally stealing a third in a driveway.
Police Chief Andrew Hilscher told First Alert 6 a total of three vehicles were stolen across town. In addition to the theft, another dozen cars were broken into.
As of Wednesday evening, two of the three cars were recovered.
Hilscher said this kind of thing doesn’t happen often here,
