PAWTUCKET – There’s no point in fixing what ain’t broke, say organizers of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary Greek Orthodox Church Annual Grecian Festival, who are returning with the popular event Aug. 22-24, rain or shine.
Andrea Vastis, co-chairperson along with Patti Panichas, said people come for what they love.
“One thing we know is there are certain things that work,” she said, including delicious food, a great atmosphere, cooperative weather, and entertainment to enjoy.
People keep coming back to Pawtucket’s Greek Festival year after year, said Vastis, but it’s still often difficult to estimate crowds. This year, they’re placing extra emphasis on ensuring that there’s enough of plentiful varieties of food, ensuring that when people do come, they get the food they enjoy.
