AKRON, Ohio — A 52-year-old Akron man will spend the next decade behind bars after pleading guilty to multiple drug and firearm offenses, federal prosecutors announced.
Alonzo Strickland was sentenced to 120 months in prison by U.S. District Judge John R. Adams. Strickland will also serve five years of supervised release following his prison term.
According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Ohio, Strickland pleaded guilty in April to four federal charges stemming from a February indictment:
Possession with intent to distribute cocaine
Maintaining a drug premises
Being a felon in possession of a firearm (with a prior 2006 drug trafficking conviction)
Possession of firearms in furtherance of drug trafficking offenses
