LAURENS, S.C. —
An investigation is underway after witnesses reported automatic gunfire that struck a home in Laurens, South Carolina, numerous times during the night.
The Laurens Police Department said officers are investigating a shooting that occurred during the early morning hours of Sunday in the area of Augusta Street.
Officers said although the incident took place between 2 a.m. and 3 a.m., officers were notified several hours later.
When officers arrived, they found a home that had been struck numerous times by gunfire. Roughly 20 spent shell casings were found in the roadway, and witnesses reported hearing what may have been automatic gunfire.
