ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) -FEMA has extended the Individual Assistance application deadline for those impacted by the May 16 tornado in the City of St. Louis and St. Louis County.
The application deadline was originally Aug. 11, but over the weekend, the City of St. Louis requested a 60-day extension . On Thursday, FEMA announced that it would extend the deadline until Aug. 26. The deadline is for initial application submissions.
St. Louis Mayor Cara Spencer responded to the FEMA extension with the following statement:
“While I am disappointed that we did not receive the 60-day extension we requested, we are thankful that it gives an estimated 700 households that have not yet applied for FEMA Assistance, an additional 18 days to apply. I want to acknowledge the hard work and lead
