OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office posted on social media Wednesday a reminder to residents to label and maintain logs of their power tools, citing a recent theft arrest.

“Let July’s recovery of stolen power tools from Richard RYAN serve as a reminder. If you are a contractor, or even if you just have high-value tools, label them,” the post reads.

Richard Ryan V, age 27, was arrested July 28 after allegedly stealing vehicles and leading police on a chase through town after escaping pursuit days before, according to authorities.

Ryan is charged with three counts of theft exceeding $5,000, possession of meth, criminal mischief exceeding $5,000 in damages, a felony count of operating a motor vehicle to avoid arrest, and possession of burglar’s tools.
