OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - Natalie Leonard loves to tend to her garden in front of her home along 108th Street.
“When I got the flowers blooming, I definitely take a lot of pride in that,” Leonard said.
Her work means she’s often close to the busy road.
“With the traffic coming by, it’s just loud and kind of noisy, and we have a lot of trash out as well.”
Omaha’s Vision Zero initiative is addressing the safety of the area.
Starting on Monday, Aug. 11, 108th Street from Fort to Emmet Streets will be reconfigured.
Instead of being two lanes both ways, there will be one lane each way, a center turn lane, and bike lanes on each side.
