Researchers at University Hospitals and the VA Northeast Ohio Healthcare System conducted a study aimed at explaining how exercise can help relieve tremors associated with Parkinson’s Disease and gained clues at the connection.
The relieving effect of exercise on Parkinson’s Disease was first observed in the early 2000’s, although researchers have yet to be able to explain how exercise helps the tremors.
Through the Cleveland Functional Electrical Stimulation Center, UH and the VA conducted a study in hopes of understanding the connection and found that long-term dynamic exercise programs may have wider restorative effects on the brain signals of Parkinson’s Disease patients, according to a news release.
