MUSKEGON, MI - A teenager died after being ejected from an SUV in a crash last week in Muskegon.
Emergency crews responded at 10:23 p.m. July 25 to the corner of Sanford and W. Dale. An SUV heading west on Dale ran a stop sign and was struck by a Chrysler heading south on Sanford.
The SUV rolled over, ejecting a 16-year-old passenger, who died at the scene from her injuries. She was not wearing a seatbelt.
"They tried life-saving measures on scene," said Capt. Tim Bahorski of the Muskegon Police Department. “She was unresponsive when we arrived. Officers did what they could to try to save her but it was unsuccessful.”
The vehicle that ran the stop sign was driven by a 23-year-old and a 15-year-old was in the backseat. Both were buckled in and were hospitalized for minor injuries.
