It’s a clear start to Saturday across northwest Oregon and southwest Washington. Skies are mostly sunny, with just some clouds offshore and a few wispy high clouds overhead. Today will be warmer than yesterday, with highs in the mid-to-upper 80s across the valleys. There’s a small chance that Salem to Eugene could hit 90°, but that chance drops to almost nothing for Portland and southwest Washington. The coast stays cooler, with highs in the upper 60s to low 70s.

The real heat arrives tomorrow and Monday. That’s when we’ll see widespread 90s, and some spots could hit 100°. Even at night, temperatures will stay warm — in the upper 60s to around 70° in some cities — so it won’t cool off much. That means the heat risk will be high both days.
