Hillsboro Ore. (KPTV) - Hillsboro police and the Washington County Sheriff’s Office are investigating after deputies recovered a body part from the Tualatin River in Hillsboro on Friday, according to WCSO.
Just after 5 p.m., Hillsboro Fire & Rescue crews responded to Rood Bridge Park on a water rescue call. Shortly after, the scene was turned over to law enforcement officers.
The person who called 911 told FOX 12 he found what he believed was a severed leg in the water near the Rood Bridge Park boat launch. He also showed the FOX 12 crew a video he took of the scene.
“I was thinking what if it could be a prop or something - I didn’t know - so I went back to maybe show 911 when they arrived,” the 911 caller said. “You can see more detail - it was definitely a body part.”
