One woman dead, another wounded in Central City shooting, New Orleans police say

One woman was killed and another was wounded in a Central City shooting early Sunday, according to the New Orleans Police Department.

Officers were called to the 2200 block of Magnolia Street just after midnight. One woman was declared dead on scene and the other was taken to a local hospital with a gunshot wound that was not life threatening, police said.

Police did not immediately release more information.
