A Westwego man has been indicted in a fatal shooting at a playground after which authorities say he tried to hide his involvement by discarding his clothing and returning to the scene in nothing but a bath towel.

Byron Spottsville, 22, was charged Thursday with second-degree murder and obstruction of justice, Jefferson Parish court records said.

He pleaded not guilty Friday in Jefferson Parish Magistrate Court.

Spottsville is accused of killing 26-year-old Zashaun Espinoza, of Westwego.

Spottsville lived next door to the scene of the shooting, Fred Dorsey Playground , 38 Norton Street, Westwego, according to authorities said.
