A 35-year-old man died and two women in their 20s were seriously injured after a crash on State Road 40 in Volusia County late Saturday, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Just before midnight a 28-year-old woman was driving a 2017 Can-Am Outlander ATV with a 22-year-old female passenger traveling westbound on State Road 40 west of Pine Woods Road on the grass shoulder, FHP said.

A 1985 Honda CMX250 motorcycle driven by a 35-year-old man was travelling eastbound on State Road 40 in the travel lane when the ATV left the grass shoulder and moved into the travel lane and the direct path of the motorcycle, FHP said.

The ATV and motorcycle collided head-on, FHP said.
