CORVALLIS, Ore. - Fall camp is in full swing for Oregon State as the team gears up for their season opener against California on August 30.

The Beavers are eager to improve on last year's 5-7 record, with a strong focus on strengthening their defense. Transfer quarterback Malik Murphy has generated excitement, but the spotlight is on the returning veteran group in the secondary.

Defensive Co-Coordinator Rod Chance shared insights into the team's progress.

"I think we put a lot of work into this off season in terms of our preparation, advancing our knowledge of the scheme," Chance said. "I think our players probably conducted at least eight meetings on their own."
