Regular riders on the Blue Line are being told to plan ahead for the work week as the MBTA has shut down a portion of the line for a total of nine days in order to replace tracks and upgrade stations.

There will be no trains from Airport to Wonderland through Aug. 17. Shuttle buses will replace train service, and the T is warning riders to tack on an extra 20 to 30 minutes more than their usual commute.

Crews will be replacing thousands of railroad ties and resurfacing tens of thousands of feet of track.
