OAKRIDGE, Ore. - Firefighters are making significant progress on the Aubrey Mountain Fire near Oakridge, which is now nearly two-thirds contained, according to U.S. Forest Service officials.

The fire, located east of Oakridge off Highway 58, was first reported on August 7, and the cause is still under investigation. Forest officials said that the fire was 65% contained as of August 10.

An infrared flight is being conducted to identify any remaining heat within the fire's interior, which is crucial given the extreme heat warning in place. Temperatures are expected to reach 98 degrees with light winds this afternoon.
