NASHVILLE, Tennessee — Daryl Hall and John Oates, the pop duo who produced a string of megahits in the 1970s and ‘80s, have reached a legal settlement over a bitter business dispute.

The agreement was filed Monday in Nashville, but details were not available. It ends a lawsuit filed by Hall against Oates in 2023. In the lawsuit, Hall accused Oates of betraying him and said he had lost trust in his former music partner in regard to rights to their music.

The lawsuit accused Oates of attempting to sell his share of the duo’s music rights while telling Hall’s associates that he wanted to maintain his ownership.
