A 4-year-old child suffered serious injuries in a fall from a third-story window in Boston on Monday night.

Boston police said they responded to a report of a 4-year-old child who had fallen from a third floor apartment window on Evans Street around 9:08 p.m. Monday.

Boston EMS also responded to the scene and transported the child to Boston Children's Hospital with serious, sustained injuries, according to police.

The child remains hospitalized in critical but stable condition, police said.
