VONORE, Tenn. (WATE) — The Vonore Police Department released body camera video of a man being taken into custody after a police chase during "Operation Iron Hickory."
On August 1, VPD participated in the operation led by the 10th District Attorney General, resulting in multiple arrests and drug seizures on Highway 11 and 411, police wrote.
At one point, the police attempted a traffic stop on Highway 411 in Vonore. The car didn't stop, which led to a pursuit involving multiple law enforcement agencies, police said. Eventually, a Monroe County Sheriff's Office vehicle ended the pursuit on Povo Road with a PIT maneuver, and a man was taken into custody, VPD wrote. The passenger received medical assistance.
