GRAND HAVEN, MI – A Grand Haven church had its pride flag returned after it was allegedly stolen last weekend.

St. John’s Episcopal Church, located at 524 Washington Avenue, said the flag was taken just before 1 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 9.

Church officials posted video footage of two young women allegedly taking the pride flag down on its Facebook page, asking those who may recognize them to contact the Grand Haven Department of Public Safety.

In an update on Aug. 12, church director Jared Cramer said the flag had been returned with a card that contains an apology and a donation to the ministry.

“We offer forgiveness. We are not going to press charges,” Cramer said in a video on social media.
