Heavy rainfall across the Chattanooga area has led to significant roadway flooding, prompting multiple road closures and warnings from emergency officials. Several key areas are currently impassable, and it is advised to stay off the roads.

The following roads are closed due to high water, the Chattanooga Police Department says:

Brainerd Road from East Brainerd Road to Germantown Road

East Brainerd Road (SR 320) at Gunbarrel Road

Interstate 24 at McBrien Road

I-24 is closed in both directions between mile marker 184–185 due to flooding. Detours in East Ridge are also flooded. TDOT will close I-24 between US 27 and I-75. Avoid the area.

The National Weather Service has issued Flash Flood Warnings for Bradley, Hamilton and Catoosa Counties until late Tuesday night.
