DURHAM, N.C. (WNCN) — A juvenile was seriously injured in a shooting Tuesday night in downtown Durham, police said.

The Durham Police Department responded to a gunshot wound call around 8:41 p.m. in the 1000 block of West Peabody Street, which is just east of Buchanan Boulevard. Once on the scene, officers found a male juvenile with a gunshot wound.

Police said EMS responded and took the victim to a nearby hospital. He has serious but non-life-threatening injuries, according to police.
