BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — A Baton Rouge woman spent two months in Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) detention. Nearly two weeks after her release, she expressed fear that it could happen again and joy at being home with her family.
Paola Clouatre, 25, was released the morning of July 28. The mother of two had been detained for two months at the Richwood facility in Monroe before a judge ordered her case be reexamined and issued a stay of deportation.
The Clouatres discussed the situation in a sit-down interview with Louisiana First Investigates, describing the happiness of being reunited and the fear that it could happen again.
